POLINI INTERNATIONAL CUP
Since 2005 it’s been Polini Italian Cup, but these races, organised by Moto Club Bergamo, could be a real European Championship of this class. So, the last race on Tazio Nuvolari circuit in Cervesina turned into a real international challenge. The weekend began on Saturday, was started by qualifying practices and a happy hour to celebrate the last race, and continued on Sunday, October the 9th, marked by the international presence of teams coming from Slovenia, Germany, Spain, Holland and Switzerland. This year, the course stretches from north to south and passed by the track of Latina, Ottobiano (PV), Viterbo, Pomposa (FE) and Cecina (LI). The races were rich in show, adrenalin, sudden changes and, most of all, passion for track races by scooter, with something new: the seasonal debut of one-brand bike Vespa Polini 171cc. Polini Italian Cup 2016 ended with the assignment of the prestigious national title of Scooter 70 Evolution, won by Filippo Corsi, official standard bearer of Polini Team; Julien Vitali stood out in Scooter Trophy 100 Big Evolution. These are the other national riders: Vespa 1714T, Matteo Tortosa; Scooter 70 Evolution Fans, Marko Mihael; Scooter 70 Evolution SuperSport, Mattia Calonaci; Vespa 135 Classic, Ivan Camera.
