FIRST CHAMPION


“Will to win…” the challenge of a boy who ran a big risk on an accident two years ago. The same will of winning of a boy who ran a big risk on an accident two years ago. But Nicolò Castellini has been able to react. To bounce back from the wounds, put together muscles, motivation, concentration, and keep on growing agonistically and doing his best. So, after dominating the previous races of Scooter 70 Evolution Open with the two third positions obtained in Castelletto, Castellini got the national cup of his class in advance.
The fifth race of Polini Italian Cup 2018, disputed on the track of Castelletto di Branduzzo, was archived after offering amazing races and perfect asphalt, that exalted the agonistic spirit and the highest speed thanks to the plays of trails, on a day when it luckily didn’t rain, despite the uncertain weather forecasts and the menacing big clouds.

SCOOTER 70 EVOLUTION OPEN:
FINALLY CASTELLINI


In Race 1, Daniel Penzo sprints on the lead, followed by Beghelli who’s trying immediately to attack him. Penzo resolutely replies and gets back the leading position.
Excellent third position for Parodi, combed by Castellini who overtakes him. Beghelli attempts a new attack to Penzo, who does not surrender and after few laps is newly first. On final sprint, Bessard, thanks to his excellent pace, joins the leading group again. In the end, Penzo wins before Parodi, Castellini and Bessard.

In Race 2, Penzo has a good start again, chased by Parodi and the championship leader, Castellini. Parodi is fast and assails Penzo by trying to gain some ground over Castellini. Bessard follows the three riders.
On the final, fight for victory. Penzo gets his own way and precedes Parodi, while Castellini ends up third and conquers the national cup.
Podium of the day: Penzo, Parodi, Castellini.

SCOOTER 70 AMATORI:
MOGLIA LEADER


In Race 1, Matteo Sauro sprints before the group, followed by Lorenzo Leonardi and the author of the pole, Paolo Moglia. There’s a duel between Sauro who would like to escape, but Leonardi passes him through a sequence of overtakings and positions changes that inflames the public. The quartet on the run is composed of Sauro, Leonardi, Moglia and Casagrande, who can keep up with his adversaries. The final sprint awards Sauro first, before the little group composed of Leonardi, Moglia and Casagrande.

In Race 2, great start of Sauro who surprises Moglia, who, shortly after, attacks him back and gets the leading position. Leonardi is always in podium area, ends the leading trio. Nevertheless Casagrande and Manzo get a penalty for false start. The race goes on with the contest between Moglia and Leonardi. On the final, Moglia’s victory before Leonardi and Rossi.

EXCELLENT BIRTELE


In Race 1, Fuschini starts but is beaten on the first bend by Benini, who gets the pole position, as Birtele is third. Few laps later, Fuschini surprises Benini and overruns him, even though he knows he can’t get any score on championship, since he’s on the saddle of a scooter.
Meanwhile, there’s a fight between Birtele and Benini, who is trying to repulse his attacks. Fuschini gets first past the finish line, before Birtele, Benini and Mammi.

In Race 2, lightning quick start of Benini who tries to run away, chased by Birtele and Fuschini. This one gets between them, while Mammi is always there and still in the score area. Fuschini distances the group, Benini and Birtele tactically are engaged to take the championship score into account. Fuschini wins, but Birtele is on first place of podium.
Day of podium: Birtele, Benini, Mammi.

SCOOTER 100 BIG EVOLUTION OPEN:
THRILL FOR STARNONE


In Race 1, Starnone goes to lead the race right away and tries to impose his pace. Behind him, Blando is assailed by Corsi who drags his team mate Tiraferri behind him. Corsi and Starnone attempt a runaway and exchange their own positions with each other. Same thing for Blando and Tiraferri. No tactics; just hard brakes and plays of trails; Corsi overruns first the finish line, followed by Starnone, Tiraferri, Blando.

In Race 2, Starnone leads the group before Corsi, Blando, Tiraferri and Righetti. It’s a surge of fast laps between the two leading groups: Corsi and Starnone, Blando and Tiraferri. On the straight line Starnone is very quick, as Corsi gains ground on the mixed track. On the final, a bump on the last turn between Corsi and Starnone, who gets up again and wins before Tiraferri and Blando, and Corsi in seventh only.
Day podium: Starnone, Tiraferri, Corsi.

SCOOTER 70 SUPER SPORT:
CIONNA’S HIT


In Race 1, Calce sprints quickly even though Raineri right away defies him and passes him after a few turns, as Cionna moves forward. The context changes very quickly; Cionna gets back the second position, pursued by the good Picciallo who, coming back, lap after lap, tries many attacks to Raineri, but has no good results. On the last lap, Cionna slips and leaves the victory to Raineri, followed by Picciallo and Lorenzini.

In Race 2, lightning quick of Raineri, followed by Cionna and Calce. Raineri tactically tries to control, as Cionna wants to recover by trying to attack. Picciallo is in the group, ready to take advantage from any least crack. Cionna takes first position by passing Raineri, while Calce slips and has to chase. Chequered flag for Cionna, followed by Martin Mihael and Lorenzini.
Day podium: Cionna, Picciallo, Lorenzini.

CADDEO GIVES GUARANTEES


In Race 1, Marco Caddeo sprints first, followed by Baglioni and Russo. Baglioni tries to make a sequence of attacks to Caddeo who resists yet. Russo follows behind, but is passed by Nardo after a hard attack. Caddeo resists Baglioni on the final and wins Race 1, as Russo is third when beating Nardo.

In Race 2, Caddeo wins, Baglioni and Russo are close to him. After some laps, Russo is near Caddeo and Nardo just behind. The contest is very tough. Caddeo has to think of the championship and leaves the way to Russo who surprises all and goes to win before Caddeo.
Podium of the day: Caddeo, Russo, Baglioni.
